Warehouse's thermals are a reproduction of the tortoiseshell knitting style from the 1950s. The thermal fabric is more warm and stretchy than jersey or fleece, and fits tighter to the body. It tends to shrink when washed, but it stretches with wear, and shrinks again with washing. Repeating this simple cycle makes it a comfortable everyday garment. Another distinctive feature is the slightly longer ribbing on the cuffs.
