This series started back in 2020 with the Year of the Rat model, so this year's snake model will be the sixth iteration and is of course full of must-see specs and details. The denim is one of Samurai's iconic slub fabrics - the Bushido 17oz - and is done up ina beautiful slim tapered cut. We've also cooked up a snake-patterned jacquard fabric made with indigo thread for the pocket bags to give these even more unique character.
Snakes have been long depicted in Japanese mythology, and their existence has had an enormous impact on Japanese culture, in both good ways and bad. One famous example is "Yamata no orochi", a serpent said to have eight heads, each having a life of their own. This ancient story is proof that snakes and a deep belief in their mythologies was already deeply rooted in Japanese culture by 1300 years ago.
