The Type I is a recreation of a 1940s-era denim work jacket in the 1st type configuration — referring to the dropped yoke, double pleated placket, boxy fit, and single chest pocket. OrSlow's version is as good as it gets, with copper rivet reinforcements and a buckle back, the fit is relaxed, with dropped shoulders, wide sleeves, and a pleated torso with plenty of space.
It's made from a 100% cotton Japanese indigo denim that OrSlow have finished with their custom used wash treatment to break in the fabric and develop a handsome initial fade. Based on samples and done entirely in-house, the fading is focused on high wear areas that will continue to change with time, the process also removing any shrinkage the fabric may have.
The hardware is all custom, from the copper rivets, to the metal buttons, to the branded leather "tag" in the collar. The buckleback is all metal as well, designed to hold up for a long time, just like the denim.
