In 1897, Clinton C. Filson opened C.C. Filson's Pioneer Alaska Clothing and Blanket Manufacturers, specializing in goods to outfit the fortune hunters stampeding to the Klondike Gold Rush.

Filson designed his goods for the most rugged conditions, guaranteeing every piece of merchandise. His name became synonymous with reliability, satisfaction and honest values.
